5 July 2021 Word by Honorary Pastor Rev Alicia Teo

Today's Inspiration: Apostle Paul advised us not to lose heart in doing good for in due time he shall reap if we do not grow weary. So then while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men and especially to those of the household of faith. Galatians 6:9-10.

This truth had been very dear to my heart. I recall ministering to a couple where the wife treated her husband badly always demeaning him. I gave her this verse which totally changed her attitude. I was then a very young Christian. I encountered situations where this verse ministers to me to love the unlovable and those who criticized or condemned me for they will have to bear consequences for the deed. All I have to do is to forgive. I assume this responsibility and take it to my spirit. If I harbor the event I am enslaving the person and myself as well. This is the Revelation I received with much awe.

Jesus Christ died for us to give us freedom and we should keep standing firm preserving the freedom and should no longer be subject to a yoke of slavery. Gal 5:1. Jesus Christ has redeemed us, cleansed us, justified us, sanctified us therefore we should maintain the standard and privilege God has blessed us with. There is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

May these experiences help you in your fellowship with God and with men. Jesus' second commandment is for us to love our neighbor as ourselves. Who is our neighbor? The one closest to us is our family and the family of Christ. Obedience is better than sacrifice. 1 Samuel 15:23. Thanks be to God we are no longer in bondage when we set free others by our forgiveness. Let Christ be our example to live abundant life.

Prayer: Lord God may I not be wise in my own estimation but be at peace with all men for peace is a gift of the spirit that surpasses all human understanding. Where there is peace there is joy. Joy is a gift of the spirit that strengthens us inside out to perform works beyond our comprehension. So Lord God grant us a heart of peace always that torments the demons daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
