Today‘s Inspiration: ”Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.“ 1 Corinthians 13:8 NIV. Building our prayer life is not about regularly asking and seeking God for what we need or want, for He knows even before we come to Him. Faith is about knowing the love of our beloved Christ Jesus. Life is not about seeking a purpose but becoming more like Jesus. Apostle Paul was correcting the Corinthian church that God weighs love more than prophecies or tongues.
God’s word foretold, “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—“ 2 Timothy 3:1-4. Why is the world today facing worrying mental health issues with soaring statistics? It is the lack of acceptance, belonging, love and existence. The world is an endless pursuance of what we want and self-centeredness is a spiritual sickness which brings envy, jealous and discontentment. But the kingdom of God is love, selflessness, and godly contentment which is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:6.
Prayer: O Lord my God, let me seek your face and not just your hands; your presence and not just your providence, and your love and not just your gifts. Your love never fails because you gave your life at the Cross so that I can be saved and have an eternal life. My hope is found on nothing less but Jesus Christ my righteousness. Search my heart, correct and change my inward ways. Mould me more into your glorious image, in Jesus Name, Amen.
