Today's Inspiration: Genesis 22:15-18 God responds to Abraham's faith with blessing that is beyond measure. There are three important points here. With blessing He shall multiply his descendants as sand on the seashore. Secondly His descendants shall possess the gates of the enemy. Thirdly in His seed all Nations shall be blessed. What a promise from God that came to pass. Blessings have staying power and will apply even if the original recipient dies. Like wise careless words brings a curse which also has staying power. Genesis 12:3 He will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.

Jeremiah declares that those who trust in men and relies on flesh more than God is cursed. Jeremiah 17:5. Curses are also attached to disobedience, untruthfulness and other sinful choices. On the other hand blessings are released to a submissive, obedient spirit. Jacob's careless words falls on Rachel because she is the one who had stolen her father's idols which Jacob did not know. Jacob's mother put a self imposed curse on herself in Genesis 27:11-13. Jacob escaped from the curse of cheating her brother because of his mother's self imposed curse.
Therefore we should exercise every caution not to speak careless delinquent words. Jesus warned us about words that comes from our heart. Matthew 12:34-35. When you receive a prophecy of blessing, make room for it and you see the supernatural manifestation.
Therefore as parents be careful of the words you pronounce on your children. Blessings propel them to their destiny. When you are angry any words can come out of your mouth. Therefore do not be rash with your words when you are angry. You are determined by the fruit of your lips. Blessings carry authority with responsibility and power. Speak words of blessing always. Critical or condemning words bring forth a curse to the lives of people.
Prayer: Lord let my words be a resource of blessing to others. Guard the door of my lips that I will only speak words of exhortation, edification and comfort. O Lord You did not give us a spirit of fear, nor of bondage but a spirit of love, power and a sound mind in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
