27 July 2022 Word by Snr Pastor, Ps Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.” Haggai‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬. Our latter days shall be more glorious that the former days is always the thoughts and plans of God from the start but man tends to get ensnared in his old and own ways. God has new wine for all us but we can’t contain it because the old wineskin will ruin it. Matthew 9:17. It’s like a bride who has put on the beautiful and spotless gown stays and wait patiently in the Sanctuary for the groom and not staining it by moving about wilfully.

Prayer is not a religious practice but for building a personal, spiritual and intimate relationship with God at the altar. Without prayer there is no conviction and change to our old and sinful ways. Sanctification is the heart of prayer to submit, surrender, and sought God. We all face some old habits, language, behaviours and attitudes which are not pleasing to God. We all need His grace, correction, courage and strength to transform and regenerate into Christlikeness to prepare for a Kingdom life. Being Born Again is not a status but a daily process of sanctification. Apostle Paul said,” You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians‬ ‭4:22-24.‬ ‭Prayer keeps the new man Resurrected and the old man at the Cross. It’s time to make changes from the heart and not just on our lips. For we who are in Christ is a new creations, the old has gone and the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Prayer: O Lord my God, take away my old hardened heart of the old self and give me a new heart of your Agape love and your Holy Spirit for the new self. Keep me advancing that I shall depart from sinful and wilful ways as far as the east is from the west. For it is no longer I who lives but Christ lives inside of me, and I believe you can make all things new again in Jesus' Name, Amen.
