Today’s Inspiration: “A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.” Proverbs 17:22 NKJV. It is coming a time of great awakening in the Spirit and the pandemic has taught us an important lesson of life that it is so vulnerable, unpredictable, and fragile. Even in the midst of losing our love ones, fighting the battle of sickness and managing the conflict of controversies, we all learnt quickly that it is not “what” is important in life but WHO is important in life. We do not how much to love until we realise how much we lost.
The gospel mysteriously operates the opposite through Christ. Blessed are the poor in Spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 5:3. How can one be blessed when one is suffering or fighting sickness or poverty? We discover this mystery in the joy of the Lord. Nehemiah 8:10. Why the world find it so difficult to have joy? It is because we focus on the stuff and not on the soul, entangling in fights for our rights than forgiveness for our wrongs. Wisdom says,” Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, Than great treasure with trouble. Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a fatted calf with hatred. Proverbs 15:16-17. When you chase prosperity, you will miss the important people in life. Don’t miss the person and presence of Christ in your life. We often neglect the people closest to us. There is always love, peace and joy in cherishing, caring and thanking one another. Isn’t this the Great Commandment? Praise God!
Prayer: O Lord my God, let me slow down my feet, quieten my heart, and clear my my mind to be in your presence in prayer. For the joy of the world is temporal but the joy of the Lord is eternal. Remove all the winds, earthquakes and fire from my soul that I may hear your still small voice again and rejoice always. In your divine time, ways and seasons, guide, mould, and change me to love like you daily in Jesus' Name, Amen.
