Today’s Inspiration: “Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, And praise Him in the company of the elders.” Psalms 107:31-32 NKJV. Many today are searching for wisdom, knowledge and understanding of God because of the world’s uncertainties of the future. It is not easy to give thanks especially with the news of Covid variants, a pending recession, more natural disasters, a risk of world wars, and uprising inflation globally. Giving thanks is easy when all things are well but what if the bottom drops out. Where will our hope and helps going to come from? Will our foundation stand in the storm, the flood, the typhoon, the fire and the earthquake?
Becoming a Christian is not about blessings, riches and prosperity. Even a pre-believer can live with that without faith. The foundation of Christianity is build on Christ. Apostle Paul taught,” By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 3:10-11 If you look at the Blood of Jesus, the Cross of Calvary, and the Resurrection of Christ. They have nothing to do with the external blessings or prosperity but have all to do with our spiritual foundation of truth in Christ, our spiritual formation and maturity. Hence we need disciplers, teachers, and mentors to strengthen us as disciples of Christ.
Prayer: O Lord my God, I thank you and praise you for my pastors, elders and teachers of the Word in my life. You are my foundation, my fortress and my refuge. Even though I may walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear for you are with me and your Rod and your staff they comfort me always, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
