24 June 2022 Word by Snr Pastor, Ps Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant. For the sake of your name, Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.” Psalms‬ ‭25:10-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬. The fear of the Lord brings forth wisdom, knowledge and understanding of God’s Word. Proverbs 9:10. Remember that the Word of God is the lamp to our feet and light to our paths in life. Psalm 119:105. It removes our sins and crucify our sinful nature so that we can live a regenerated life in Christ, by His Blood and His Cross.

The main challenge of the Church today is secularism where the ways of the world are brought into the body of Christ rather than Christ is brought into the World. Galatians 3:1. We can be doing Church better than we are doing Christ. When unsaved family members only see our religiosity in spending time in Church but no change in our attitude, behaviour and character into Christ, there is no reality of faith. It was exactly what Jesus was dealing with the Pharisees. True witnessing of Christ is our personal testimony of true repentance and change to follow the Lord. Luke 9:23. Without crucifixion of our sinful nature and toxic behaviours, we will not bear the fruit of Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23. The Church is not to be filled with programs for people like the world but to make disciples of Jesus Christ to be sent out to their homes, marketplace or mission field.

Prayer: O Lord my God, as you died at the Cross for my sins I am also crucified of my flesh and died to my sinful nature. May I learn daily to deny myself, carry the Cross, and follow you. Forgive me if I have given a wrong reflection of Christ at home or in the marketplace. Let my only desire to be more like you and be changed by your Holy Spirit who teaches and guides me to change, in Jesus Name, Amen.
