23 November 2021 Word by Senior Pastor, Ps Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: We often see pain, troubles or sorrow as an obstacle or an attack from the enemy. Yet we forgotten we live in a fallen world with a fallen nature but in Christ we are not forgotten nor forsaken. Christ is our comfort and counsel at times of great need.

Compassion is birthed through Comfort at the Cross. Jesus knows our every troubles and is familiar with our afflictions. That’s the reason He is called the Great Comforter. John 14:16.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Our pain helps us to relate to the needs of others, raising love, empathy and understanding. That’s the revelation of the Cross. Comfort comes when we look to the Cross of Calvary but Compassion comes when we look from the Cross of Messiah. Praise the Lord!

Prayer: O Lord My God, who is like you, Lord? There is none like you, who lifts me up from the miry clay and set my feet upon the Rock to stand up on firm ground. Use me Lord to also bring thy comfort and compassion to others that they may know your salvation, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
