Today's Inspiration: Matthew 12:29 Jesus has an example of binding the strong man to destroy what he has. This seems contrary to what I taught yesterday as I have been asked several times on this verse when I explained the binding and loosing principles. You will notice that Jesus does not bind an evil spirit. He simply rebuked demons and commanded them to leave. So what does Jesus mean by binding the strong man?
I believe the strong man is referred to as the soul of man rather than a demonic principality. Jesus has already defeated Satan so Satan is not our enemy. God's enemy is our flesh. Romans 8:7. There is a common saying that you are the enemy. Satan used our mind, the place where we are to make choices. Our fleshy nature separates us from God.
The binding and loosing prayers can uproot the carnal forces of our soul man. It is often our fleshy nature and not demonic oppression that keeps us from obtaining God's promises. So bind your undisciplined mind to the mind of Christ so that you think and act like Jesus. Bind yourself to the mind of Christ. Bind yourself to His cleansing and redeeming blood. Bind yourself to every attribute of God's character. Bind yourself to His stripes that have already healed you. Bind yourself to the truth of God's word. We must not allow our free will to be bound to darkness or Satan can loose us from the truth and steal from us. Binding a strong man is not a permanent solution to our problem but will temporarily deactivate the ruling spirits power. It's only the angels that can bind Satan when the time comes. Revelation 20:1-3. For every loosing of the demons residing there, we are to refill the house by binding the person to the truth of God's word.
Therefore practice loosing the unclean spirits in your mind and start binding your mind to words of healing as in 1 John 4:4 greater is He that is in us than he (the devil) that is in the world. Stay focused on binding and loosing principles that all maybe well with you.
Prayer: Lord we loose every fear, anxiety and stress from our mind and bind our mind to the word of Christ in Galatians 5:1 that it was for our freedom that Christ has set us free therefore we will not allow Satan bind us to his schemes ever again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
