2 July 2020 Word by Honorary Pastor Rev Alicia Teo

Today's Inspiration: We cannot justify ourselves for the Injustice done to us. God revealed to Job His sovereignty in dealing with him. What God has destined from the mother's womb, God will fulfill as His word can never return to Him void. Isaiah 55:11. God told Rebekah that Esau will serve Jacob even though it's a norm to give first born inheritance to the first son. Paul highlights this truth in Romans 9:9-13. God chose us not by our works but by His grace. He always chose the weak to confound the wise. 1 Corinthians 1:26-31.

We should not be disturbed by God's unequal distribution of blessing. Paul was illustrating a truth in Deuteronomy 7:7-8. He chose us not because of how numerous we are but He always chose the least of all to grant a blessing. He knows every heart in advance. Though circumstances occur because of men's folly, yet they were created to test a man's heart but for His purposes to be fulfilled. That's what distinguishes Him from other gods. God is more pleased with your dependency on Him exclusively more than you use your efforts to resolve difficult issues. As a human, we find this difficult as we want instant results and for God to come to our help quickly but He always has His time and season. We must always remember that what was sown to us during the beginning of our life will be what we will go through in later years. This is what Apostle Paul is driving at when he wrote to the churches he founded to have our mind renewed now that we are in Christ Jesus and not to conform to the world and our past formative influence but to detach from them even though we live in the flesh and there is a tendency to react to people's offensive remarks. Romans 12:2. Daily offer our body as a living sacrifice which is the perfect will of God. V1. His presence is reflected by your attitude towards God, self and others. Love covers a multitude of sins. God be praised.

Prayer: Almighty God, help me not to lean on my own understanding of my circumstances but open my eyes to see Your awesome works that are ahead of me. In Jesus name Amen.
