Today’s Inspiration: “Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.” Isaiah 58:12 NIV. The calling and gifts of God in our lives never change and are irrevocable. Romans 11:29. God’s calling and gifts are to rebuild lives that are broken, heal the bodies that are sick and feed the hungry that are poor. Until we see the sins of our souls, we will not know Christ and the desperate plea for the Cross, the Blood and the Spirit of God overwhelms us by His grace. Until we encounter the Holy God, there is no fear of the Lord to make us change to be like Christ. Proverbs 9:10. Christians do not wear the Cross but bears the Cross like Christ so that through His sacrifice, many can be redeemed and saved.
Abraham and Moses didn’t encounter God in their lofty home and palace, rather in the desert and the mountain. What is a true Christian life? A Christian life is no longer of one’s own but of Christ. Apostle Paul taught,” I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20. A Christian life does not omit suffering, weakness, pain and sorrows but rather embraces them with the attitude, vulnerability and humility like Christ who is the way, the truth and the life. Ironically, it is in the hardship we encounter more of His Lordship in our lives. Dying to self daily in the flesh seems like a daunting task but it’s where we tarry in prayer, petitions and thanksgiving in our hearts so that we can have the mind of Christ and the peace of God. It’s time for the church to raise up the age old foundations and to rebuild all lives with true Christian living of sacrifice and love.
Prayer: O Lord my God, let me deny myself, carry the Cross and follow you. I shall put my trust in your word, your wisdom and your ways which are higher than mine. Let I not look to the needs of my own but to others like you who came to this earth to forgive our sins and to save, heal and feed. Blessed is the lamb of God, who shows us the way, the truth and the life to be rebuilders and restorers of broken souls, homes and families, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
