19 April 2021 Word by Honorary Pastor Rev Alicia Teo

Today's Inspiration: All of us are given a choice. Joshua asked the Israelites to choose for themselves whom they will serve. But as for him and his household they will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15. Our choices lead us to our future. Very often we are being pressured by the world with the attraction on riches and fame to serve the world. On the other hand, we are also compelled by the hangover of our past sins, habits and attitudes to choose to remain wounded and not shift to true Holiness serving the Lord and to an everlasting life. Thank God they choose to follow the footsteps of Joshua to serve the Lord. V21.

You may be on the crossroad to choose whom you serve. Would you choose to be mighty men of God serving the Lord or the world? Both serving is tough. By serving the world you can see the physical material gains. But when you serve the Lord there is eternal gain and you would rule and reign with Jesus eternally. Man with sin of the flesh chooses the easy path of an access to immediate material gains which you can see yet the Bible says we should not be debtors to the flesh in Rom. 8:12. We need to be led by the spirit who gives us life where the flesh profits nothing. John 6:63.

It all depends on your calling and who you choose to obey. Our attitude in serving must be right. Your agenda must be according to the will of God. It's best to strike a balance. But in all things seek the agenda of God first and give priority to righteousness so that whatever you desire is added to you. Matthew 6:33. There is always a time for everything and a grace on our calling. It is God who wills that matters. What are you hearing? Abide to His word. God be praised.

Prayer: Lord it is not of him who wills or him who runs that matters but of God who shows mercy. Lord we need your grace and mercy to run the race well to your expectation. We plead therefore for your strength to labor and your wisdom and discernment to make the right choices in life. We submit to your destiny for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
