Today's Inspiration: Is not God's word like a fire and a hammer that breaks the Rock in pieces? Jeremiah 23:29. John the Baptist preached that Jesus baptised with fire. Matthew 3:11. May God's word come to you with His fire to burn those thoughts that misjudged others and even yourself and open the door of your heart to deny the misguided thoughts and place them to death on the inner cross as you deny self and take up the cross and follow Him. Luke 9:23. This should be our discipline today.
What are your misguided thoughts that need repentance today so that God's biblical integrity can enter your heart through the mind that guards your heart?
Biblical integrity is not doing the right thing but having the right heart to allow the person you are on the inside to match the person you are on the outside. What is inside of you is eternal. What is outside of you is fleshy and can easily wither and pass away. 2 Corinthians 4:16. Biblical integrity is also to be consistent on the inside as it is on the outside. Consistency is formed during your early teenage years. If you are not appropriately parented during your formative years, you will be inconsistent on the inside as you grow up. Mismatch tantamount to hypocrisy which is a heart sin Jesus always addressed and rebuked the Pharisees. Matthew 23:25-29.
As leaders we need to have these two emotional competencies and to be accountable to the people we lead. We are formed to have such an image of God to have biblical integrity and be consistent in the way we live out the truth. We need to conduct ourselves worthy of our promises and our commitment. Only covenantal love is dependable. Jesus came to exemplify this truth and we should do likewise. Let your love, truth and goodness not be governed by external circumstances only. Throughout the teachings of Jesus His focus was always on our heart condition. Matthew 15:8. God be praised.
Prayer: Lord, let Your word come to us like fire to burn impurities out of us and a hammer that breaks the hardness of our heart that Your tender mercies, unconditional love and compassion be upon us always wherever we go. We feel secure when You are with us. Amen.
