16 February 2023 Word by Senior Pastor, Pastor Darien Choo

Today’s Inspiration: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬. The Word of God is the breath of God, and is given by the Spirit of God. Interestingly, without breath we are not able to produce sound in our bodies with words and when Jesus breath into His disciples after His resurrection, He gave them the Spirit of Peace, the salvation and the eternal Holy Spirit to live in them. John 20:21-22. Strangely when we look at the huge earthquake in Turkey, you can’t avoid noticing at how the building fell and many were without strong foundations. And those which were strong were able to save many lives.

Without building a strong foundation in the Word of God, one can fall easily to temptations, false teachings and deceptive spirits in the end of times. Apostle Paul was guiding young Timothy on building strong biblical foundations for the Church and ensuring the disciples to be equipped with the Holy Word given by Holy Spirit, who brings patience, gentleness, temperate, respect, self-control in our spirit to be sound in faith, in love, and in endurance. Titus 2:2. Avoid godless chatter and foolish arguments because you know they produce quarrels, and the Lord’s servant is not quarrelsome but kind and not resentful, patient and not easily angered. Don’t react to negative words or emotions but rather guard your heart with the Word of God to do good. 2 Timothy 2:23-24. Praise God for Christ is our foundation and His Word is our daily bread.

Prayer: O Lord my God, cleanse me to be thy instruments of faith for your special purpose, made holy, useful for the master and prepared to do any good work. Strengthen my foundation with your Word that I may stand unshaken in the end of times, and to save many into their salvation, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
