Today’s Inspiration: “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;” Isaiah 61:1 NKJV. Prophet Isaiah spoke such a powerful word of God about Christ on His divine works on earth that fulfilled after thousand of years. Many people pray for the anointing of God but few understand the purpose of God. Why? Notice that the anointing is not for self but for others who were sick, downtrodden, oppressed and bound. Yet today we hear prayers asking for anointing to prosper rather than to the poor.
Anointing of God is for the breaking of yoke that the enemy has placed in this world on people who are ensnared, trapped and bound by sin, iniquities and transgressions. Isaiah 10:27. All of us are too sinners saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. God’s divine purpose is to console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. Isaiah 61:3.
Prayer: O Lord my God, let my prayers be for those who are suffering, sick and unable to break free from the enemy’s shackles. May the purpose of God be always in my prayers, my will and my heart. Let thy anointing fall upon me to do your work in preaching, teaching, and ministering to others to be free from sin, sickness and darkness. For yours is the kingdom, power, and glory for every and ever in Jesus' Name, Amen.
