Today’s Inspiration: “My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.” Proverbs 3:1-2 NIV. The Word of God brings spiritual awareness of our hearts. Wisdom in the proverbs do not address us as a student but as a son, a child of God. It speaks great knowledge about wellness in our emotions and thoughts, governing our hearts and our minds. Psalms 4:7. It reveals to us that our wellness and our relationship with God are spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically intertwined. Sin is the sickness of the soul but repentance is the healing of the soul. Jesus said to the Pharisees, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Mark 2:17.
The wisdom of the proverbs is to build a strong relationship with God our Abba Father, self and others. God’s plan is always irrevocable, irrefutable and irreplaceable, unlike the world which is unstable, unsure, and unreliable. Romans 11:29. The power of the Holy Spirit comes upon our faith in Messiah rather than the ministry, in the Word of God rather than the works of man. Why? We discovered if the disciples of Jesus Christ would to focus on the ministry, they would not have lasted. John 21:15. Building a strong relationship isn’t just about the blessings, benefits and breakthroughs, rather it’s about the person, presence and passion. If our children only focus on the gifts rather than the giver, he or she will not understand the intimacy with God. The Love of God in the family is the focus of the Proverbs.
Prayer: O Lord my God, let I not forget your words and wisdom in my spirit and my heart. May I hide them within me that I will not sin against you. Lead me in thy path of righteousness and fill me with thy Holy Spirit to hunger and thirst for more of you. I may not have a perfect family but I have a perfect Father God who watches over me and fill me with His love daily. For the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, knowledge and understanding in Jesus' Name, I received, Amen.
