Today’s Inspiration: “To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27 NIV. To be born again or reborn in Christ requires the baptism of water and Holy Spirit. In Christ we become a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17. We need both the Word and Spirit of God to manifest the hope of glory in our lives, who is Christ. Why do we see after many years, a fervent Christian can become lukewarm and even backslide? If we only have one of the two that was being mentioned and not both, we cannot be filled with the fullness of God.
Water is the Word of God and Spirit is the Fire of God. It must sanctify us daily and keep our personal prayer altar burning. Leviticus 6:13 Spiritual maturity requires both conviction and transformation. Having the gifts of the Spirit doesn’t make you a matured Christian, rather it is the fruit of the Spirit that makes you one like Christ. Galatians 5:22-23. We need both the gifts and the fruit of the Spirit to be fully matured and equipped to build and extend the Kingdom of God. Yeshua is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end we strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in us. Colossians 1:28-29.
Prayer: O Lord my God, sanctify me daily with your Word and fill me with your Holy Spirit to have the wisdom, passion and strength to do thy will and work. Keep me near to you that I could hear your still small voice and hide me in your love, that I may be more like you, my hope of glory in Jesus' Name, Amen.
