Today’s Inspiration: “Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord.” Proverbs 8:34-35 NKJV. Many believers desire to hear the voice of God and wants to learn how, for faith comes from hearing, hearing the Word of God. Romans 10:17 This we have to learn from Jesus who has the zeal for the Father’s House. God’s Word changes not. When everyone was busy celebrating the feast of the Passover, Jesus was found missing by Mary and Joseph for three days.
After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. Luke 2:46-47. Jesus wasn’t caught up by the busy workings, rather He was caught up by the Word of God. The Word of God is not only for a theologian, scholar or pastor. If so, all the discipleship of Jesus would have been disqualified. It is about how to live a spirit filled and godly life. Why were you searching for me?” Jesus asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house? Luke 2:49 NIV If we want to learn how to hear the Father’s voice, we need to be in the Father’s house, free from the distractions from the world. Without knowing the Word of God, you will not hear or discern the voice of God.
Prayer: O Lord my God, take me deeper into your Word daily. Let me see more of you through the gospel and the glory of your richness be deposited into my heart. For greater shall be you Lord, the Word of God inside of me, then the things of the world. Change me with thy Word. For your Word is the lamp to my feet and light to my path. My delight is in your Word, where the desires of my heart be fulfilled, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
