Today’s Inspiration: The strongest warfare in life is against idolatry. The strongest weapon against idolatry is Worship. “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24. When we don’t put God first in all we do, Idolatry will arise. All idols are strongholds and they come subtly. Busyness is the playing field of Idolatry.
Why is spending time to read God’s Word and pray is so difficult but endless hours of online gaming, watching Korean dramas and social media is so easy? It is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and pride of life. 1 John 2:16. Worship determines our time and priorities in life.
What and Who is taking away your time with God? Even people can be idols. Celebrities, celebrated ministers or even love ones. Sicknesses and Unforgiveness can also be an idol. Matthew 6:14-15 Who you lend your ears and eyes to can be an idol or strongholds like pornography, false prophets or even bad company? Worship always builds our faith in God but Idolatry cause us to fear man and events. Be sober for faith comes from hearing, hearing the word of God. Romans 10:17.
Like Mary who put God first in Martha’s house has chosen the good portion and Jesus told her that it will never be taken away from her. She chose to Worship than to Worry like Martha. She chose to Listen than to Complain. She chose to draw near to Christ than to the Chores. Never neglect Worship in your spiritual life. It is the best chosen portion, our Lord Jesus Christ. Psalm 16:5-8.
Prayer: O Lord My God, I chose today to Worship you with all of my heart, all of our soul, and all of my strength. Bring down all idols in my life and family. Let us seek ye first your kingdom and your righteousness in Wisdom and Discipline, that you are my chosen portion, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
