Today's Inspiration: God's commandment of serving is always to do it wholeheartedly as if we are serving the Lord not men and in all serving we have a reward irrespective of where He placed us. Ephesians 6:7-8. In serving, we must serve with integrity which can be safely guarded only when we are grounded and convicted by the foundation of God's truth.

In v14 we are to put on the breastplate of righteousness which in today's context is the bullet proof vest which guards the heart, the seat of our attitude and emotions and other vital organs including the soft abdomen.

Why did Jesus stressed on seeking the Kingdom of God and His righteousness in Matthew 6:33?

Righteousness speaks of integrity which comes from the heart. Throughout scriptures we are told to guard our heart and David throughout his Psalms pleaded with God to guard his heart. If our heart is left unguarded, we are vulnerable both physically and spiritually. As God's mighty army we must be able to stand.

The word 'stand' appears in Ephesians 6:11, 13 &14 to emphasize that we are to be steadfast and we can protect our integrity only if we stand on the belt of truth. Hence only the Breastplate of integrity based on the truth of God's word in our heart will provide us protection from vulnerability. It also guards us against fear and anxiety. Have you noticed that when you have much anxiety, you tend to open yourself to virus attacks on your abdomen? Hence in God's word, we are to live a life of integrity and conviction rather than wavering in dire circumstances. Let our Breastplate of integrity be our defense weapon. God be praised.

Prayer: O Lord God, guard my heart so that I will live a life pleasing to You in all respects and guard my steps. In Jesus' name. Amen.
